Each Thursday  --  June 4 - August 6, 2009

9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Meet at parking lot across from Callaway Gardens Country Store

Join our naturalists for a 2.5-mile hike, moderately strenuous hike through the Cason J. Callaway Memorial Forest, a registered natural landmark and a protected Forest Legacy Site.  Discover the unique ecology of the Pine Mountain region as we explore upland habitats of longleaf pine and chestnut oak, as well as lush bottomlands along a rushing, spring-fed stream.  This 2,600-acre wilderness is part of The Preserve at Callaway Gardens®, an area accessible to visitors only on guided programs.  For ages 10 and older.  Wear sturdy walking shoes and bring drinking water to carry.
