Where to Take Your Family Vacation This Summer
07/15/2017 – It’s vacation time! Summer is the time for your family to get excited by the prospect of adventurous trips and great discoveries! But if you want to see some real excitement in your family, remember that it’s hard to remain calm when you know your destination is Callaway Gardens Resort. We’re talking about 2,500 acres with prime activities for families near Atlanta that’s sure to have not just something for everyone, but many things for all of your happy crowd to love! Look at this list:
The 175-acre Mountain Creek Lake and 12 other lakes on the property offer fishing, boating, and swimming. There’s even a white sand beach. In May, the Masters Waterski and Wakeboard Tournament is held at Robin Lake. If you love being on the water, you could plan to rent a canoe, or lie on the beach during your visit at the resort.
Callaway Gardens has hiking trails and the Bicycle Trail. If you are interested in taking the family for a fun hike, try geocaching or visiting the Pioneer Cabin. We rent bicycles, or you can bring your own and explore our miles of bike trails.
Kids love animals, and the Birds of Prey show should not be missed. Plan to attend one of the daily presentations, which combines nicely with a visit to the Day Butterfly Center. Everyone will be thrilled with this up-close look at wildlife.
If rest and rejuvenation is what you are after, the spa services at Callaway Gardens are available by appointment. The spa offers a full menu of relaxation and restoration services, including facials, massage, and botanical body treatments.
A final alternative for vacation, and a very popular activity for families, is the Summer Family Adventure. This activity is designed for families for 4, 5, 6, or 7 nights. During the day camp, your children, ages 3 to 17, are invited to participate in the Flying High Circus with Florida State University students. The parents enjoy planned activities while their children are busy, and meet the children in the late afternoon and evenings to play games and enjoy beach parties and fun competitions. Lodging for the Summer Family Adventure is in neighborhood style cottages and villas with full kitchens and living and dining areas. The program runs June 3 to July 15, by reservation.
If vacation time is limited, the resort has other events that provide a respite from the day and offer fun and engaging activities in a refreshing environment. Scheduled throughout the summer are food and wine experiences, education and culture events, sports and recreation competitions, entertainment programs, and gardening programs.
At Callaway Gardens, we are open year-round, seven days a week. We offer a Day Pass and an Annual Pass to fit your family’s needs. The Callaway Gardens hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., or dusk, with overnight accommodations available at the Lodge.
Planning a family vacation can be a lot of fun, especially when it means everyone will be involved in favorite activities near Atlanta. Callaway Gardens Resort will make everyone happy and you will be celebrated for such a great choice! Call for reservations today.
