Red Tailed Hawk
Buteo jamaicensis Red-tailed hawks are the most abundant raptor in North America. These birds of prey are found in almost every state in the US. They live in a variety of habitats, including woods with nearby open land, plains and deserts. They are often seen being carried by columns of air called “thermals” and seem to glide effortlessly overhead while using their excellent eye sight to scan for prey. Adoption Fee: $150 |
