"Monet's Gardens and the French Countryside"By Pat Fiorello and Cathy Ehrler Atlanta-based artists Pat Fiorello and Cathy Ehrler recently had a rare opportunity to paint in the gardens of Monet's home in Giverny. Each day they were able to enter the gardens when it closed to the public to paint the beauty and serenity of the magical gardens Claude Monet envisioned, designed, and captured on canvas. Monet often claimed the garden itself was his greatest masterpiece. The garden is often described as a "riot of color" and its footbridges, pond, water lilies and lush gardens accented by pathways, trellises, and arbors have been immortalized in Monet's work. This special exhibit features oil and watercolor painting by both artists. Some were done on location during the trip and others were inspired by the experience and photos taken while there and then completed back in the studio upon their return from France. In addition to scenes from the garden, other landscapes from their travels in France are also on exhibit. We hope you enjoy this escape to Giverny!
