Activity Pass
Price is $120 plus tax. Available only to registered participants of Summer Adventure.

There are (6) punches, which may be used in any combination.  No refunds for any unused punches.

Available at Registration, Mountain View Pro Shop or The Lodge Front Desk.

The activity pass is non-refundable and non-transferable.
May be used by any family member for any of the following activities during your stay:

  • One daily greens fee, 9 holes = 1 punch per person
  • One daily greens fee, 18 holes = 1 punch per person
  • One power cart, 9 or 18 holes = 1 punch for each person in the cart
  • One and one-half hours of tennis court time for up to 4 people = 1 punch
  • One and one-half hours of racquetball time for up to 4 people = 1 punch
  • One day fishing (includes boat and motor; max. 2 people per boat) = 1 punch
  • One round of 25 skeet, trap = 1 punch for targets

Airport Shuttle Service

Shuttle service is available for a fee from Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson International Airport and the Columbus Metropolitan Airport.

Attire
Casual, cool attire—including golf and tennis wear—is appropriate for breakfast and lunch. Suggested attire for dinner ranges from resort wear to business dress. Proper attire for golf is a shirt with a collar and slacks or Bermuda-length dress shorts for men. Proper attire for ladies is a shirt with a collar, slacks or dress shorts, and any fashion that is considered golf attire.

 

Attraction Shuttle
First shuttle leaves at 10:00 a.m. from the Virginia Hand Callaway
Discovery Center, and the last shuttle returns at 5:30 p.m., weather permitting. Shuttle will make stops at the Day Butterfly Center and the Sibley Horticultural Center only. This shuttle is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Beach Games at Robin Lake Beach
Open 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Free paddleboats, ping pong, miniature golf and shuffleboard.

Hours are subject to change and activities are subject to availability & weather permitting.

 

Bicycling
Bike helmets are required by Georgia State Law for all individuals 16 years old and younger.

  • Bicycles are rented on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Virginia Hand Callaway Discovery Center Bike Rental area daily from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Bicycles must be returned be 5:45 p.m.)  Overnight or weekly rentals will be allowed until 6:00 p.m. each day (weather permitting).
  • Summer Adventure guests may also check out a coaster brake bike or a trail-a-bike for two hours free of charge each day with bikes returned by 5:30 p.m. Signatures are required daily.
  • All rentals subject to sales tax.
  • Weekly rentals are available for $40 for a coaster brake bike, $80 for a trail-a-bike, $50 for a six-speed.
  • Summer Adventure guests may charge bike rental to their room account. Helmets and locks are included in the bike rental. Summer Adventure guests are responsible for all damage to and/or theft of bikes.
  • Charges for bikes not returned are: $200 for a coaster brake bike, $400 for a trail-a-bike, and $300 for a six-speed.
  • For your safety the following restrictions may apply: Signatures are required on a Release of Liability form for each rider. Guests 18 and older must be present to sign, and those under 18 must have a parent or responsible adult to sign for them.
  • There is a 40-pound weight limit and 36-inch height limit for a child riding in a child carrier.
  • Guests must meet the minimum age of 18 to ride a bike with a child in the child carrier.
  • A 65-pound weight limit applies to a child riding a trail-a-bike. Trail-a-bikes are only to be ridden by children who are too big for a child carrier and cannot ride a bike without training wheels.
  • Rental bikes are not allowed off property, on beach walks, golf courses and walking trails.
  • Rental bikes do not come with training wheels.
  • Bikes are to be used only by the person to whom they are issued.
  • Misuse of rental bikes will result in the guests’ loss of equipment use and deposit, or the rental fee will be forfeited.
  • Callaway mechanics may do minor repairs to bikes.
  • Some bike parts and accessories are available for sale at the Virginia Hand Callaway Discovery Center.
  • A bike pick-up service is available for $5 plus tax per bike. Please make arrangements for pick-up when renting bikes.

Birds of Prey

Virginia Hand Callaway Discovery Center Amphitheater
Daily at 10:30 a.m. & 12:30 p.m.
Join the experts as they introduce you to the world of raptors.  Discover the majesty of these birds as some soar overhead and others greet you “on the glove.” Get a close-up look at a spectacular bald eagle, a beautiful barn owl and other fascinating species.

Birds of Prey shows may be canceled in the case of inclement weather or extreme heat.

 

Canoe Rentals
Canoe rentals available at the Boat Dock, Monday-Sunday.
Limited availability. $20 first-hour, $5 each additional hour.

 

Car Rentals
Daily or weekly rental cars are available. Reservations required.

Children Center
Saturday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Ages 3-6.

All children must be potty trained.  Qualified counselors and special activities planned for each age group.  Lunch will be provided for a small fee (see Children's Lunch Tickets).  Children without lunch tickets must be picked up at noon and returned by 1:00 p.m.  Sign up at registration.

 

Children’s Lunch Tickets
May be purchased at registration or in front of the Circus Tent 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Children without lunch tickets must be picked up at noon and returned by 1:00 p.m. Children 3 to 10 years old are under the supervision of counselors during lunch. Lunch will be served as a buffet with a choice of entrees.

Ages 3-6, $7/day; 7 and older, $8/day.

 

Circus Performances
Saturday 1:30 p.m. & 4:00 p.m.; Sunday 2:30 p.m.
Monday & Friday 8:00 p.m.; Tuesday & Thursday 3:30 p.m.
No performance on Wednesday
For the 48th consecutive year the Florida State University’s “Flying High” Circus provides entertainment for the whole family.

 

Day Camp
Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Counselors are assigned to each age group to lead day campers in a diverse schedule of fun activities. There is even a day camp for adults. Children will be comfortable in bathing suits or loose fitting clothes. Towels are provided for the 3 to 6 year old group only. Lunches are supervised for 3 to 10 year olds. Older children are allowed to lunch on their own.

Discovery Programs

Callaway Gardens Discovery Programs offer something for everyone, providing fun and interesting insights into horticulture and the natural environment. Programs are free unless otherwise noted. For more information, please call the Education Department at 706-663-5153; on property, dial Ext. 5153.

Fishing
Mountain Creek Lake Boathouse

Rental hours - Daily 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  For information call ext. 5204.

 

Game Room Chill Zone/Teen Center
Soap Opera House in the Cottage area

Open daily 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

For use by Summer Adventure guests only.

Arm bands required for entrance.  Ages 13-18 only after 8:00 p.m.

Golf
Open daily 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., weather permitting.
Play Mountain View, Lake View or Sky View. Proper dress required. Collared shirts for men. No blue jeans. Appropriate golf attire for women. Call ext. 5619 for advanced tee times or ext. 5325 for same-day tee times. Driving range and practice tees available. Individual lessons by appointment.  It is necessary to occasionally close our golf courses for aerification to maintain top course condition.  Click here to download a schedule of summer aerification dates.

Gun Club
Callaway Gardens Gun Club
Wednesday through Friday & Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Callaway Gardens Gun Club offers a variety of challenging shooting activities including skeet, trap, five-stand and sporting clays.

Beginning and experienced shooters can participate in our shooting clinic, ages 12 and older.  Clinic information (fees, times, etc.) on Program Guide.

Hospitals
There are several hospitals in LaGrange and Columbus.  All are capable of handling emergency and medical needs.

Housekeeping Services
Open daily 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Housekeeping service is provided once a week. Additional towels and linens are available at the Cottage Housekeeping office.  Cottage Housekeeping also has a limited supply of cribs available.  Roll-away beds are not permitted in cottages.
Housekeeping after you depart: In the event that anything beyond standard cleaning is required in your cottage or villa to prepare it for the next guest, you will be assessed an additional cleaning fee.

 

Iceberg Island Water Playground

Robin Lake Beach
Come cool off at Iceberg Island, a floating water playground on Robin Lake. A 14’ iceberg rises above the water—perfect for climbing! Trampolines, aqua totters, slides and more are part of this fun way to play in the water. (For ages 6 years and older.)  

Fee: $5 per person, per 1-hour session. Sessions start on the hour. Weather permitting.

 

Jogging
Callaway Gardens is a great place for a long, invigorating jog or walk. Robin Lake Drive circles Chickadee, Robin and Martin Lakes and is approximately 2.3 miles long. The sidewalk that skirts Robin Lake’s shore is perfect for walking and measures just over one mile. Callaway’s miles of bike and walking trails add to your options for a morning or evening jog, just please try not to be on the trails after dark.

 

Laundry & Laundry Service
The Soap Opera House

Small coin-operated laundromat.

Guest laundry service is available Monday-Friday at $3.00/lb., 5 lb. Minimum.

Two-day laundry/dry cleaning is also available.

 

Medical Service
Our Guest Services representatives will be happy to secure basic medical services for you. Please call ext. 1234. In the case of emergencies please call ext. 5911.

 

Morning Coffee
Beach Pavilion
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Mingle with other adults and enjoy complimentary coffee and snacks after dropping off the kids. Thursday’s Morning Coffee will be hosted by one of Callaway’s key managers.

 

Shopping

Butterfly Center Gift Shop: Fun and unique butterfly and insect-related toys, books, clothing,gifts and home décor.

Callaway Gardens Country Store (Hwy. 27, South of Mountain Creek Inn): Gourmet and private label foods, gift items, apparel, books and delightful home décor. 

Centre Court Pro Shop (Tennis Center): Tennis and racquetball equipment, attire and accessories.

Discovery Shop (Virginia Hand Callaway Discovery Center): Nature-related toys, yard accessories, books, home décor and jewelry.

Inn Store (Mountain Creek Inn lobby): Newspapers, books, sundry items, souvenirs and home décor.

Kingfisher Outfitters: Products for fly fishing, clothing, outdoor-related gifts and accessories for the home, Drinks and snacks.

Golf Pro Shop: Fashion apparel for men and women, golf accessories, shoes and hats.

Pine Needle Gifts (The Lodge and Spa lobby): Gifts and sundry items.

Sandbucket Souvenir Shop (Robin Lake Beach): Beachwear, sunscreen, outdoor toys, t-shirts and more.

Vegetable Garden Shop: Just picked produce in season and gardening gifts, books and an array of gardening supplies.

 

Tennis Center
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday through Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Center Court Pro Shop is open offering a wide variety of tennis apparel and the latest in tennis equipment. Private and group lessons are available from certified professionals for players of all levels. Clinics and mixers are offered throughout the week for players of all ages.  Get three players together and play doubles with your favorite pro in “Three and a Pro.”

Clay courts are available for $9/hour singles per person, $7/hour doubles per person (tax not included). Hard courts and racquetball courts are also available.

Toddler Center
Toddler Center, near the Circus Tent 

Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Ages 1 to 3 years. $7/hour per child or $30/day per child. Includes lunch.

Sign up at Saturday registration or at the Toddler Center.

 

Train
Open daily, 10:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., weather permitting.
All aboard the Chickadee Choo-Choo for a miniature train ride at Robin Lake Beach.

 

Transportation
Callaway Gardens is on approximately 13,000 acres. You will need a car while you are here in order to get to all areas. A guided three-hour tram tour is conducted daily for a small fee (for information call the Discovery Center Information Desk ext. 5317). Bicycles are the way to go! Our Discovery Bicycle Trail will get you almost everywhere you want to go inside the Gardens. You may bring your own bikes, or rent them here. A free shuttle operates daily between the Callaway Discovery Center, Sibley Horticultural Center and the Day Butterfly Center. These stops also give you easy access to the Callaway Brothers Azalea Bowl and the Chapel.

 

Water Shuttle
Enjoy a pleasant trip across Mountain Creek Lake on the free Water Shuttle. We’ll take you from the Callaway Discovery Center to the Boat Dock near the Gardens Restaurant.  Water Shuttle may close due  to inclement weather or lake levels.
