The Southern Rivers Birding Trail

Callaway Gardens is one of 30 designated sites along the Southern Rivers Birding Trail, which consists of 4 loops of driving routes through west-central and southwest Georgia.  Of the estimated 385 species of birds found in Georgia, 262 kinds may be seen along the trail at certain times of the year.  Southern Rivers Birding Trail maps and bird lists are available at local visitor centers, Georgia Welcome Centers or by calling GA DNR, Nongame-Endangered Wildlife Program at 478-994-1438, www.georgiawildlife.com.
