Woodland Gardens and Trail
The tour begins by simply choosing the mode of transportation that takes the longest time. Driving is better than flying; biking is better than driving. Thus, Callaway Gardens' Discovery Bicycle Trail, opened in 1989 – it gets you out of the car and introduces you into a cherished ecosystem in which humans, plants, and animals are equal partners.
The 7.5-mile trail features only a few gentle hills – the trail leads to all of the Gardens' most popular attractions. But should you decide to stop along the way and spy on a blue heron, go ahead. Or park your bike and explore one of the walking trails. Your efforts will be richly rewarded.
