Fitness Series - Triathlon

The tradition continues with the oldest ongoing Triathlon in the South at Callaway Gardens on Sunday, September 2, 2012. The national reputation of this triathlon, combined with the Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival, makes Callaway Gardens the place to be over Labor Day weekend. This competition has been ranked "Top Ten" several times over the past 28 years.

Triathlon events begin at 8:00 a.m. with the 1k swim followed by the 30k bike event and the 8k run all within Callaway Gardens. The swim is in Robin Lake and the bike event is two loops that includes Robin Lake Circle, Events Drive, Mountain Creek Drive, Discovery Parkway and Scenic Drive. The run is primarily on the paved bike trails and Robin Lake Circle. Flat and fast!

There is also a 5K run that begins at 7:50 a.m. on September 2, 2012.

Admission to Callaway Gardens for Athletes and Spectators:
Athletes who register by deadline – receive complimentary Gardens admission
Athletes who register late – receive half-price Gardens admission of $12.50 (Special Event admission is $25)
Spectators – receive half-price Gardens admission of $12.50, or $30 per vehicle (whichever is less)
