Sponsored by Callaway Gardens
Calling all Plein Air artists, collectors, collectors-to-be and spectators! The Quick Draw event on Saturday, April 21, 2012 is a great opportunity for professional and amateur painters to compete and have fun in Downtown Pine Mountain, Georgia. During this short time, all registered Quick Draw participants will set up their easels and paint or draw “en plein air” in downtown Pine Mountain (see Event Guidelines below).
Artists will paint within a designated area. Painting will begin at Noon, and all artwork must be completed and framed by 2 p.m. Each participating artist will be provided with a four-part invoice to be completed and attached to the painting for judging and sale, which will begin immediately thereafter. Judging begins at 2:15pm; cash awards will be awarded at 2:45 p.m. Sales will close at 4 p.m. All art must be displayed until the sale ends. This will be the only opportunity to view and purchase these works.
Following the competition, artists are welcome to display along the sidewalks in the “heart” of the downtown area (rain exhibit location will also to be in the downtown area).
This is one of the most exciting experiences of the week-long Plein Air event. Together, artists and spectators are absorbed in the creative process. See the subject matter and how the artists interpret it. Smell the wet paint and get caught up in the excitement of watching a painting come to life before your eyes.
Plus, you get to shop, dine and explore in beautiful Pine Mountain.
