Spring Bucket List: Fun Activities to Do with the Family

Has your spirit of adventure been lost somewhere between the gray skies of winter and the current spring rains? Maybe it’s not you, it’s the kids. They’re tired of spending weekends watching Netflix. And you’re weary listening to them fussing with each other because they can’t play outside. What you need is a getaway to Callaway Resort & Gardens. Here are a few things to add to your family’s spring bucket list.

Flying Through the Treetops

One activity you should add to your family’s bucket list is ziplining. This activity is easy enough that any family member can do it. Well, maybe not the baby, but anyone at least 4 years of age and 36″ tall can experience the exhilarating TreeTop Adventure at Callaway Resort & Gardens. Ziplining is a growing trend across the country. Families who’ve tried it say it’s an amazing bonding experience and one they’ll definitely do again!

Hit the Trails

What better way to get rid of the winter wiggles than with a hike on a nature trail? We have more ideas: how about a bike ride on some of the best bike trails near Atlanta? The Discovery Bicycle Trail is open daily, so don’t forget to pencil in some pedal time. Don’t want to ride on two wheels all day? No worries — bikes can be rented for a half day or a full week. You can rent bicycles and all the equipment needed at several locations throughout the resort, including the Lodge and Spa.

Family Slumber Party

Don’t just plan a day trip — make it a family weekend! When you book a room at the Lodge and Spa, you get beautiful views of nature and first-class amenities. Enjoy a drink in our pool side cabana bar while the kids splash. Sink into our relaxing hot tub. Get a facial or massage. We even have our own beach! If you plan to stay longer or need a little more space, book one of our family-friendly Villas. All kids love slumber parties and when you turn it into a family event, you sneak in some family bonding time too. Besides, there are so many fun things to do in Georgia, you can’t fit everything into one day. A long weekend is great, but don’t rule out staying for the week!

It’s Tee Time

Spring is the perfect time to share your love of golf with your family. It’s never too early to cultivate an appreciation for time on the green. Golfers come in all shapes, sizes, and ages. We know it can be hard to drag kids (and adults) away from the pull of video games and smart phones. Golf is a fun way to get the entire family on their feet and outside in nature. Here at Callaway Resort & Gardens there are have two fantastic courses. There are many things you can buy your kids designed to help them learn and grow. If you want something that will make a real impact, teach them to enjoy golf!

This is only a taste of the many fun activities you can add to your spring bucket list. To experience the full menu of fun, don’t forget to book your next family vacation at Callaway Resort & Gardens!
