New Childcare Laws for Summer Family Adventure
|It has come to our attention that Georgia state law prohibits Callaway Gardens to administer childcare for more than 4 hours a day for children six and under. Because this impacts traditional programming for children ages 3 & 4 and 5 & 6, you will notice changes in the Summer Family Adventure (SFA) schedule compared to previous years.
In the effort to comply with state law yet continue offering programming, we created two segments within the traditional 6-hour SFA program to choose from for your child to attend daily during SFA.
Each child in these age groups may attend one session; either 9:00 am to 1:00 pm or from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. They may also alternate which segment they attend throughout the week.
It is our hope that with the flexibility of this solution, your family will still be able to participate in the program activities of your choice.
Also as a result of the same law, a Toddler Center for ages 2 and below will no longer be available. If you have childcare needs outside of the program you may bring these to our attention for further suggestions.
Our goal remains to provide a safe positive learning environment to nurture creativity and curiosity about nature. Seeing that spark in your child’s eyes at the end of the week when they sing the “Callaway Kid” song for all the parents in their award ceremony, reminds us why this is our 60th year!
As always, we appreciate your support of this wonderful family-oriented enrichment program.
