“Adopt” Rohmann the Harris’ Hawk
When Rohmann was a little baby hawk, he was exploring outside of his nest, hopping from one cactus arm to the other. He either missed his perch or perhaps hopped to the ground. Regardless, a human came upon him on the ground and thinking Rohmann was abandoned. Even though the person was trying to help Rohmann,
unfortunately he can now never survive out in the wild. Without his hawk parents, Rohmann was not taught to hunt or live like a Harris’ hawk. When he was taken to the vet, he was confiscated by the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Rohmann was originally placed with an individual in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana. He was later acquired by Callaway Gardens in September 2004.
