Robin Lake Beach History

Over sixty years ago, Robin Lake Beach was built specifically for the Masters Water Ski Tournament. The architects made sure to build an expansive pavilion with covered stadium seating, a judges’ tower, and a media area all for this international event. The action can be seen clearly from the white sand beach and picnic areas.

Callaway Resort & Gardens welcomes trained service animals in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Georgia state law. Service animals are defined as dogs or, in some cases, miniature horses that have been individually trained to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability. Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy animals do not meet the ADA definition of service animals and are not permitted in resort facilities.

Service animals are allowed throughout the resort, including garden paths, lodging areas, and public walkways. At Robin Lake Beach, service animals may accompany their handlers on the beach and surrounding areas. However, in keeping with Georgia public health regulations, animals—including service animals—are not permitted in the water or designated swimming areas of Robin Lake. This restriction helps preserve water quality and ensures the safety and comfort of all guests.

While visiting, service animals must remain leashed, harnessed, or tethered unless those devices interfere with the animal’s work or the handler’s disability prevents their use. In such cases, handlers must maintain effective control of the animal through voice commands or other means. Service animals must be housebroken and under the control of their handler at all times. Handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their service animal.
